Salad-e-Shirazi
Salad-e-Shirazi is a fresh tomato-cucumber salad, originating from the Iranian city Shiraz. It is typically served as a side salad - often with barbequed meat. The salad is very quick and simple to prepare: The ingredients are cut very finely and then combined with a citrusy dressing. The perfect summer salad for any occasion.
Ingredients
Serving 2
Preparation time: 10 minutes
3 large tomatoes
1 cucumber
1/4 onion
For the dressing:
3 tbsp olive oil
juice of 1 lemon
1/2 tsp salt
pinch of pepper
Method
Cut 3 tomatoes and 1 cucumber into small cubes (the smaller the better). Finely chop 1/4 red onion.
Add all to a medium-sized bowl and add 3 tbsp olive oil, the juice of 1 lemon, 1/2 tsp salt, and a pinch of pepper.
Mix well and serve as a side salad. If you are preparing this salad in advance, refrigerate it and add the dressing right before serving.
