Persian Cucumber-Mint Yoghurt (Mast-O-Khiar)
Mast-O-Khiar is a Persian yoghurt dip which is served as an appetiser with flatbread, herbs and feta or on the side of many rice and meat dishes. The cucumber and mint add extra freshness to the yoghurt which also goes really well with bbq meat.
Ingredients
300 g greek yoghurt
1/3 cucumber
1 tbsp dried mint
1 tsp salt
optionally: walnuts and olive oil for garnish
Method
Wash and grate 1/3 cucumber.
Combine 300 g greek yoghurt with grated cucumber, 1 tbsp dried mint and 1 tsp salt.
Optionally garnish with walnuts and a drizzle of olive oil.
Serve with rice, couscous, bulgur or meat.
